This serene stone buddha statue has an unsual stone carving of a head piece, on the head piece carvings of open lotus flowers are found. Open lotus flower is a symbol of purity. The buddha is standing on a lotus throne while holding Abhaya mudra, the gesture of reassurance, blessing and protection. This stone statue was obtained from North western China. This beautifully carved marble stone Guan Yin statue has a boy next to the foot of Guan Yin Goddess, a popular fertility symbol in China. The exact phrase to describe this image is called "Guan Yin Brings Child to your home". In China, Guan Yin is the most worshiped Goddess and a statue such as this one is often seen in a temple where the locals would gather and pray for a healthy conception or delivery of a baby. The entire statues is carved out of one single stone. The details of this stone statue is impeccable, creating an elusion of an actual meditation temple in one single piece of stone.
