Yan An was the base for the Red Army during the civil war and the saying of “Bronze and Iron Walls” was a symbol of the Red Army’s strong defense system. This saying was used many times over to symbolize Chinese people’s strong will to defend outer invaders such as the capitalism later on. Titled “We are all good shooters”, this poster depicts young women from the outer islands of China holding and polishing up rifles. This poster came from an oil painting Created by Zhao Shu Qin and published by People’s Art Publishing house, printed by TianJin Art publishing printing factory, and distributed by Beijing Xinhua bookstore. This poster was published in December 1975 as a first edition. Total of 165,000 copies were printed. Price of the poster was 7 cents. Size: 15” by 21”.
