Of all cultural revolution color ceramics, this large three piece set of Cultural Revolution color ceramics is one of the most vivid depiction of public images of Mao and Madam Mao during Cultural Revolution, before the fall of the Gang of Four. Seen on this three piece color ceramics, are Mao and Madam Mao sitting down, and in between them is a tea table. Mao is featured wearing the famous blue Mao's uniform, Jiang Qing, or otherwise known as Madam Mao, wearing a Cultural Revolution Red Guards uniform, with her full length Liberation Army coat, and the Red Guard's hat, also known as the People's Liberation Army hat. Madam Mao is also seen holding a note book on one hand. Madam Mao was self proclaimed student of Mao and often seen holding a note book when Mao spoke.
This ceramic tea table style was a typical piece of furniture seen during Cultural Revolution era. The tea table was made of wood, as evidenced by the color of the ceramics, and a white table cloth had been put on the top of the table. On the tea table, are a pack of cigarettes, an ash tray, a tea cup with lid, and a book that states "War Strategy", a book written by Suen-Zi during Warring period. The Cigarette, as evidenced by the photo, is of the brand of "Zhong-Hua", or "China" in Chinese. Mao was known to only smoke Chinese brand cigarette, and Zhong-Hua brand was the top brand of the time.
