Cultural Revolution modern Peking Opera record "Dock"
A lesser known to Western world, yet wildly popular Peking Opera developed during the Cultural Revolution under the leadership of Jiang Qing (Madam Mao) is a story called "On the Docks". This set of two records in 33 1/3 RPM and 10 inches (LP) features the complete set of selected scenes from this famous Modern Peking Opera with Revolutionary Themes. As indicated in the back cover of the records, this Peking Opera was adopted and performed by the "On the Docks" group of Peking Opera Troup of Shanghai, record made in January, 1972. Songs include "May our sincere friendship be carried to all parts of the globe", and "No danger or difficulty can cow a communist." Manufactured by China Record Company, Distributed by Guozi Shudian, China Publications.
