The Great Eastern Dispensary advertisement
The Great Eastern Dispensary Company, joined owned by Chinese and the French, were part of colonialism Shanghai inherited in the 1930’s. Perhaps it also explains why the woman in the boat was so fashionably dressed, unlike the traditional Chinese at the time. One noticeable product the advertisement poster shows was the facial cream that is called “Child’s face”, which is listed to the lower right hand corner of the poster, it is named as such to state that the cream would make your face as smooth as a child. Size: 31.5" long by 20.5" wide. For additional and detailed photos please visit our mirror site at http://www.zitantique.com/poster.html.
